SAMBÜC | Elder Flower Liqueur
“Elegant, fresh and sweet, able to give the affectionate and happy embrace of Sunday”
ALC / VOL
Years later, today this liqueur is produced using the same formula. The aromatic extraction of elderflowers takes place through winy and hydro-alcoholic infusions, using the same method of grandfather Natale Mario. Combining the floral infusions with wine and alcohol, begins the aging phase that lasts a few months, time needed to create harmony between the different components, releasing intensity and aromatic fragrances. The result is a sweet, fresh and balanced drink, which is finally completed with the addition of a millefiori honey at km 0.
Beautiful, feminine and sinuous, it looks like a nectar with a bright gold color with pearly notes. Sweetly herbaceous and floral, it has a honeyed and caressing elegance, which makes it unique and enveloping.
Known since ancient times for its therapeutic qualities that were used in particular in the treatment of fevers and infections, the elder is a plant that grows throughout the country and whose flowers are used mainly.
Sambüc of Natale Mario was born primarily thanks to his wife Ida, who used to collect elder flowers in the woods behind her husband's Fundeghera, who promptly stole them from him to use in the creation of this liqueur.
Since 1943 Natale Mario, began to produce the Sambüc and take it to his Fundeghera to have its customers taste it on Sundays. This delicacy was in fact the drink of the festival: to be consumed smooth or in addition to white wine.
